On May 30, a study conducted by Alibaba's research institute Dharma Institute and Singapore's Nanyang Technological University found that OpenAI's newly released large-scale language model GPT-4 can perform data analysis at 0.45% of the cost of a senior human analyst (with an average annual salary of $90,000), or 0.71% of a rookie analyst. The report shows that GPT-4 is not only far cheaper than human analysts, but also much faster. However, GPT-4's graphical accuracy, report presentation and formatting in some cases are not as good as human performance.
